Dog Memorial Gift

$29.95

A digital memorial portrait of your dog, gently placed in the arms of Jesus. Delivered to your email within 48 hours of receiving his photo.

A house feels different without him at the door, waiting for the sound of the car in the drive. This digital memorial portrait offers one gentle image to hold onto: his photo, placed into the arms of Jesus.

This is a digital artwork rather than a physical product — we place your photo of him into this peaceful scene. The finished image arrives by email at full high resolution, so you can have it printed at whatever size you choose, and pass it on to other family members to have their own copy made too.

Simply upload his photo directly on this page when you order — no need to email it separately.

The finished portrait will be in your inbox within 48 hours.

Are you sure that meta has to be the same as short description

Reconsidered field independence and corrected initial assumption

No — I was wrong to state that as a requirement. They don’t have to be the same, and I shouldn’t have presented it as a rule.

What’s actually true (verified earlier in this conversation, from Yoast’s own documentation): if you leave the Meta Description field blank, Yoast auto-generates it from the Short Description using the %%excerpt%% template variable. That’s the only real link between them — it’s a fallback behavior, not a requirement that the two must match once you’ve written something in.

Why they arguably should be different, actually:

  • Meta Description appears in Google search results — its job is to earn the click from someone searching
  • Short Description appears on the product page itself, near Add to Cart — its job is to reassure someone who’s already there and close the sale

Writing the same text for both is safe and not wrong, but it’s a missed opportunity — you could make the Meta Description more search-hook focused, and the Short Description more practically reassuring (e.g., mentioning the upload process directly, since that customer is already on the page and about to act).

Given where we are, I’d suggest: keep what I gave you as the Meta Description for all 16, and let me write a slightly different, more practical Short Description for each instead. Want that, or would you rather keep them matching for simplicity at this point, given how much has already gone back and forth?
